Two Rivers of Mukwonago
Subdivision in-person meeting
6:45pmThursday, June 8, 2017

Mukwonago Community Library
Topics (If you would like topics added to the agenda, please write a comment to this post.):
  • Election of 3 new ACB members – the current board has decided for a variety of personal reasons to resign from the ACB.  Three residents have volunteered, and need to be confirmed by a vote.  The three candidates are:
    • Brad Bettinger (Brad has volunteered for Co-Chair)
    • Kent Pederson (Kent has volunteered for Co-Chair)
    • Ed Melchior (Ed has volunteered for Treasurer)
    • All three candidates will speak at the meeting, and a vote will be the first order of business
    • Other candidates are welcome to nominate themselves.  If you wish to run for the ACB, all candidates will have the opportunity to speak in support of their candidacy at the meeting.  You can either let Brad, Ed, or Kent know, or simply speak up at the start of the meeting to declare your candidacy.
  • Enforcement issues
    • Lights
      • There will be some discussion about repairability or replacement
      • Working out suitable replacements for parts no longer available
    • Trees – most lots are required to have two (dead trees must be replaced.  Note that lots with less frontage may not be able to place two trees in the space between the sidewalk and street.)
    • Trailer and SUV parking in driveways
    • Unregistered cars
    • Garbage cans
    • street parking - overnight, blocking garbage cans, blocking mailboxes, which side of the street
    • Others?
  • Status of the covenants
    • The covenants will expire in 2023 if no action is taken, and many residents have expressed an interest in keeping the community standards going.
    • Potential modifications
      • Clarity on what is enforceable
      • Community standards for things like lamps and mailboxes
      • election and replacement procedures for ACB members
      • Do we want a social committee or a funding mechanism to let others organize get-togethers (or block parties) with reimbursements – or can this group (if made) coordinate the rummage sale?
      • We need ideas!  What do you think the covenants should say?
  • Legal consultation
    • Covenant renewal
    • Covenant restating
    • Enforcement
    • Voting procedures
  • Assessments
    • Establishing a regular schedule
    • Establishing a set amount
    • Establish guidelines for all expenditures

Refreshments will be served (muffins and cookies).

What kind of food you ask? Homemade treats, probably, depending on how much time Ed has to bake. We'll have water as well.

Wonder if overnight parking on the street can be addressed or the police alerted to ticket to discourage this? Sometimes cars are in the way of setting the garbage cans out, and cars are sitting for up to two weeks before they are moved

We'll add that to the agenda. Thanks!

And don't forget about parking only on odd sides of street, and blocking mailboxes. I've had the post office give me informational notes about the inability to deliver mail if someone's in front of the mailbox.

Looking forward to the plan to maintain landscaping at our entrances. I witnesssed someone taking it upon themselves to do clean up at Two Rivers entrance. Big thank you to him!! But we need a thorough clean up and I know Createscapes used to do it. What is our plan. Thanks.

Jill, we are in negotiations with Createscape again for renewing our annual maintenance. In the meantime, Brad took it upon himself to do some weeding (that's who you saw, I expect). Since we don't have enough money in the subdivision account to do that yet, we will be announcing an assessment very soon. We're also in the process of developing a strategic plan for all actions and activities we're working on. We'll have a brief preview of that plan during the meeting on June 8 at the Library.

Thanks for your input!
